Pisco Sour

Poor Pisco… In 2007 a 8.0 earthquake shook this city, destroying 80% and leaving the people feeling abandoned. It still looks, 5 years later, like it is struggling to recover with every other plot of land showing extensive damage or just rubble.

I wasn’t sure why we had stopped in such a bleak place until the next day when we took a boat ride to lslas Bellestas, a poor mans Galapagos and saw the colonies of bird and sealions.  Apparently the birds produce guano which the locals collect and can sell for up to $150 a sack.
