The Wandering Wino

Cafayate, at only 4 hours from Salta fitted nicely with our resolution to do short bus trips and by complete coincidence is the 2nd largest area in Argentina for wine production! Who knew?

It’s basically a central square made up of restaurants and as you move out from the main square there are Bodegas showcasing the wines and then the vineyards themselves.

We spent a leisurely 4 days making up for 4 things we had been missing out on, namely; sunshine, steak, sleep and most importantly WINE!

The Bodegas offer tastings at little or no cost and despite the local white, Torrontes, not being to our taste, we soon found a Malbec or 5 that were fantastically drinkable whatever the price!
