Oslo – Out and About

Here’s a quick overview of the other sights of Oslo we experiencedshoot myself

Akershus Fortress – previously a fort, then a prison, it’s now a tourist attraction.  Lots of art and great views of the Olsofjord.  We also discovered that if you use the panoramic mode on the camera and you move quickly, you can shoot yourself in the head with a cannon!

Vigelands Park – Located in Frogner park there is a strange but interesting collection of 212 statues from Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland, including a very angry baby, some dubious baby minding techniques and a giant obelisk of intertwined bodies (sculpted, not real – it’s weird but not that weird!)

Oslo Waterfront, this is the new cool arty part of town with nice restaurants, trendy bars and funky artwork where you can drink your £10 pint of lager  alfresco thanks to fur blankets and thermonuclear heaters

Time to move on.  Next (and final) stop, Tromso
